  • Care of the Cured Leprosy Afflicted Persons

  • Organising Skin Clinics to detect hidden cases of leprosy

  • Capacity Building Activities through seminars, conferences, workshops and training of trainers

  • Involvement of school children in leprosy detection in their neighborhood families

  • Encouraging people to take early and complete treatment

  • Advocacy to achieve the following by the year 2020

    • No disabilities among new pediatric patients.

    • A grade-2 disability rate of less than 1 case per 1million people.

    • No discrimination on basis of leprosy.

  • HKNS has prepared an E module for training of Medical Officers and PM staff

The Hind Kusht Nivaran Sangh (HKNS), the Indian Leprosy Association, registered in 1949 (hereafter referred to as Sangh) is successor of the British Empire Leprosy Relief Association (BELRA), which was founded well back in 1925 with the objectives of serving leprosy afflicted individuals, removing stigma of leprosy from the society and promoting social & research activities in the field of leprosy in India.
